Who are we?
We are an authentic, growing, relevant and biblically based Christian Church on Grange Park, Loughborough. We seek to encounter Jesus, build community and see transformation in people’s lives as we discover together what it means to be followers of Jesus. We want to provide a place where everyone is welcome and can discover who God is, whatever their age. We believe in God’s love for all and are passionate about sharing that with our local community and beyond. We believe in the importance of gathering together to worship, to pray, to deepen friendships and to learn from each other. We are also a church that seeks to plant new churches, in partnership with others, so more people can know the love of Jesus. How did STB begin?
In 2017 Martyn Snow, Bishop of Leicester, asked the churches in Leicestershire if they wanted to become 'Resourcing Churches'. A Resourcing Church is a church that wants to grow new Christian communities and reach new people, many of whom have had little or no contact with the Church of England.
Emmanuel Loughborough, in partnership with the Good Shepherd church, were one of the 6 churches in the Diocese of Leicester that was designated as a Resourcing Church. Out of this relationship, combined with lots of prayer and generosity, STB was planted in September 2019 in the kitchen of Ben and Helen's house!
